What is Traffic Survival School (TSS)?

Traffic Survival School is an 8-hour, in-person course required by the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) for drivers who have committed certain violations. It is designed to improve driver behavior and reduce the risk of future offenses.

You may be required to attend if you received any of the following from the Arizona MVD:

  • Traffic Survival School Order
  • Corrective Action Letter
  • Proof of Assignment
  • Court Order signed by a judge

Common reasons include:

  • Accumulating 8 to 12 points on your license
  • DUI or reckless driving offenses
  • Red light or stop sign violations
  • Underage driving violations
  • Out-of-state violations that require Arizona TSS

The course is a full 8 hours, as mandated by the Arizona MVD. It is completed in one day.

You must bring:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Your Corrective Action Letter, Traffic Survival School Order, or Proof of Assignment

Failure to bring the required documents may prevent you from attending class.
